An old-time favorite dessert on our Bean Palace Restaurant menu!

Servings: 10 to 14

In a large bowl, stir together blackberries, sugar, 6 Tbsp flour, and salt. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large bowl, cut butter into flour and salt with a pastry cutter or in a food processor.
Stir or pulse (about 6 pulses) ice water into the flour.
Form into a soft ball. Divide dough into two pieces.
Turn out on a floured surface and pat or roll one piece into a rectangle sized at 11×13 inches. Place in the bottom of an 11×13 baking pan. Pour berries into the pan.
Roll the second ball into a rectangle sized at 11×13 inches. Place on top of berries.
Press edges of crust onto the pan. Prick top crust with a fork.
Bake 55 minutes.
