A classic favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, margarine or shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup WEM Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups WEM Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

Baking Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Yield: 2-3 dozen cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar by hand or with an electric mixer.
  4. Beat in egg, water, and vanilla.
  5. Stir in dry ingredients and raisins.
  6. Drop by teaspoonful on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake 10 minutes.
  8. Cool on rack.
