This is a great take-along breakfast or snack!
Ingredients
CRUST:
- 1 cup WEM Organic Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 cup WEM Organic Thick Rolled Oats
- 1/2 cup oat bran
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup honey or brown sugar
FILLING:
- 1 cup chopped dried or fresh apples
- 1/4 cup WEM Honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup of water
Instructions
Baking Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Yield: 18 bars
CRUST:
- Mix crust ingredients together until well blended.
- Oil a 9 X 11-inch baking pan.
- Press evenly into pan using fingertips.
FILLING:
- In a saucepan, combine all filling ingredients except honey.
- Simmer over low heat until water is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in honey.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Spread filling over crust mixture.
- Bake 20 minutes.
- Cool and cut into bars.
