Down-Home Cookin' at the Bean Palace Restaurant

It is a War Eagle tradition to put on a pot of beans, bake fresh breads and welcome you into the Bean Palace Restaurant for some “good eating” in our cozy Mill restaurant. Today, our menu offers a wide range of choices to satisfy your hunger and fuel the rest of your day. We’ve recently added some new items for those of you hiking, biking or simply watching your waist.

All War Eagle grains are organically grown - have no additives or preservatives and are not chemically treated. And, most importantly, they taste great!

Our restaurant is on the third floor of the working Mill, and there is no elevator. Upon request, we can set a table on first floor or on the front porch and bring your food downstairs. Downstairs we can seat up to 6 people at a time. Please see the side bar on big groups for more info.

All orders served with War Eagle Honey, Sorghum & fresh Apple Butter

    Stone ground buckwheat flour waffle and 2 country sausage patties.
  • Buckwheat Waffle Supreme -
    War Eagle Buckwheat Mix waffle topped with Blueberries and Whipped Topping...simply decadent!
  • War Eagle Buckwheat Waffle -
    Stone ground waffle mix made at War Eagle, maple flavored syrup and butter.

  • Beans, Cornbread, Slaw -
    Bowl of Beans seasoned with Ham and other good things, a slice of War Eagle Cornbread, and creamy Cole slaw - all homemade.
  • Mini-version of #1 -
    Cup of beans, cornbread, and slaw.
  • Soup and Sandwich -
    Homemade soup of the day and a Hickory-smoked Ham or Turkey Sandwich on whole wheat bread with house dressing, tomato and alfalfa sprouts.
  • Sandwich Plate -
    Hickory-smoked Ham or Turkey Sandwich on whole wheat bread with house dressing, tomato and alfalfa sprouts. Served with slaw, chips and a dill pickle wedge.
  • Hickory-smoked Ham or Turkey Sandwich -
    Served with house dressing, alfalfa sprouts and tomato. Cornbread Sandwich - Open-faced smoked turkey or ham with house dressing, tomato and sprouts piled atop of War Eagle Cornbread, served with dill pickle wedge, slaw, and chips.
  • Black Bean Taco Salad -
    A Heap of green lettuce, specially seasoned vegetarian black beans, cheese, tomato, corn chips, salsa, dollop of sour cream.
  • Mini-Miller's Sandwich Plate -
    For our little 10 & under visitors - peanut butter and apple butter...or...Cheese sandwich with Cheegles chips and fresh fruit.
  • Specialty Desserts -
    Hot Pecan Cobbler (oat flour in the crust); Hot Blackberry Cobbler; Sugarless Apple Cobbler; Seasonal Pies

War Eagle Mill Teatime & Ice Cream Hour:

Serving up delicious hand-dipped Breyer’s ice cream by the scoop! Flavors ranging from vanilla to cookie-dough-caramel! We also serve our pies à la mode, so come in for a Hot Pecan Cobbler; Hot Blackberry Cobbler; Sugarless Apple Cobbler; or try one of our homemade pies bursting with seasonal fruits! Mmmmmmm...
