PAM'S HORSE d'OEUVRES

COOKIES FOR HORSES

A treat for horses whether you're in the back yard or on an outback trail—helps their stamina and makes them thirsty. But most of all makes them love you! Horse cookies made with War Eagle organically grown grains will endear you on endurance rides. Just pack in your saddle bag. Dogs also like them—but cats---NO WAY!

1 1/2 cp grain (your regular horse feed grain)
1 1/2 cp War Eagle Thick Rolled Oats
1 cp War Eagle Flax Meal
1 cp War Eagle Wheat Bran
1 cp War Eagle Raw Wheat Germ
1 cp War Eagle Whole Wheat Flour
1 package (4 oz) Electrolytes Plus Powder
(water soluble)
1 chopped fresh or dehydrated apple
1 cp canola or corn oil
3/4 cp blackstrap molasses
3/4 cp pancake or table syrup

Cover cookie sheets with aluminum foil; coat with nonstick cooking spray.
Mix all ingredients together. Dough should be thick, if gooey, add more whole wheat flour. Drop by spoonfuls (about the size of a shelled black walnut) onto cookie sheet.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for approximately 25 – 30 minutes. Watch closely so they don't burn. Cool on rack, pack in ziplock bags. Makes about 7 1/2 dozen.
