War Eagle Mill Cookbooks
Former mill owner Zoe Medlin Caywood gave new life to our mill way back in 1973 when she and her family rebuilt the War Eagle mill into a flour-powerhouse. Zoe has an unabashed passion for whole grain cooking and has written ten cookbooks with a wide range of subjects like “Pass the Biscuits,” “Low Fat Whole Grain,” and “ Bread Machine Whole Grain.” These cookbooks are a treasure trove of baking technique and Ozark wit. The cookbooks are available as individuals and as sets.
Zoe is hooked on whole grains!
“I began working with whole grains and stone buhr ground grains over 30 years ago. The taste and texture of these organically grown, non-processed foods excite me even more today than they did then. I am thrilled to find new ways and recipes for using flavorful cornmeal, grits, cracked wheat and 26 other products that we produce. As I love food preparation and baking, my cookbooks are chock full of my favorite recipes.”
