Head painting & firecracker cornbread – Another memorable 4th of July

Head, shoulders, knees and toes… okay, more like head, face and arms, were sporting patriotic paint this past weekend at the Mill’s 4th of July celebration. Lots of paint, glitter, ice cream floats and firecracker cornbread were enjoyed all day long. The beautiful weather and rushing War Eagle Creek made the day even more memorable. If you couldn’t make it out to the Mill, no worries, I took plenty of pictures to share!

Two tables were piled high with crayons, markers and lots of glitter. Many enjoyed coloring, making hand- crafted star wands and air planes. So much glitter, so much fun!

Along with crafts, visitors enjoyed patriotic face painting. Some volunteered their arm and head to be decorated with red, white and blue. We loved their playful spirit!

After playing in the creek and making colorful craft keepsakes, visitors came inside to cool down by making old fashion ice cream floats with their choice of soda. Others decided to embrace the heat and fill up on our firecracker cornbread made with chunks of jalapeños. Yum!

Food, crafts and so much fun! We hope you can join us again next year!
